 As you go to the polls on November 7,
Don't Forget Your Photo ID!
 Photo ID is a new legal requirement.
(Only IDs issued by the State of Indiana or Federal Government IDs will be accepted.)
 

 

Acceptable identification must have:

  • the voter's photo,
  • the voter's name (name must match the voter's registration records), and
  • an expiration date (must be current or have expired sometime after the last general election date of November 2, 2004).

 

Acceptable forms of identification include:

  • an Indiana drivers license,
  • a student ID from an Indiana state school (private schools are excluded),
  • a U.S. passport,
  • a U.S. military ID,
  • an Indiana photo ID.*

 

*Indiana photo ID cards can be obtained free of charge from the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles (IBMV).

 

If you have not registered to vote in the general election, you have until October 9, 2006 to do so.

 

If you are registered to vote, but are scheduled to be out of town on November 7, you may vote by absentee ballot.  Absentee ballots may be obtained from the county clerk's office.  The deadline for absentee voting is noon on Monday, November 6, 2006.
